A high-performance asynchronous event loop engine implemented from scratch in C++.
Developed to deeply understand the core architecture of non-blocking I/O systems like Node.js and Redis. This library implements the Reactor pattern to handle concurrent network connections efficiently without relying on external frameworks.
Key technical achievements
- Reactor pattern implementation. Built a custom event demultiplexer and dispatcher in C++ to manage I/O events and task scheduling.
- Non-blocking I/O. Implemented asynchronous socket handling to support high concurrency, simulating mechanisms like
epoll/kqueue. - Concurrency architecture. Designed a single-threaded event loop model optimized for I/O-bound tasks, minimizing context switching overhead.
- System programming. Utilized low-level OS APIs and manual memory management to ensure maximum performance and resource efficiency.
